Who I am
[/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]I’m a former software tester turned AppSec architect who has been building software for over 25 years. I started out in test automation and have branched out to work in all areas of software quality and now security. I help teams to build the right software in the right way, where what’s right varies from team to team. I spent several years studying with Cem Kaner at Florida Tech, ultimately reaching ABD status on a doctorate in Computer Science.

Currently, I’m the Security Architect for the Conjur team at CyberArk, working with a team of great engineers to secure application access to passwords and other secrets. My role includes dependency management, security scanning, threat modeling, working with my teams to design secure functionality, and generally raising the bar for security across my org.

When I’m not making software, I enjoy logic puzzles, reading both non-fiction and fiction (particularly speculative fiction), playing tabletop games, taking photos, and helping my wonderful wife, Heather Tinkham. You can find my photos and at https://geekymonkey.photos. I recently joined Mastodon too and right now, that’s the best place to interact with me.

This site is intended to collect content I publish across the Internet and serve as a central point for people to find out more about me. It’s sadly gotten a little dated, but I’ll be working on refreshing it in the coming months! Welcome![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″]

What I'm Listening To
[vc_column_text]I listen to a lot of podcasts. I’ve chosen to listen to the back catalogs of many shows, and currently for these shows I’m working on episodes from January 2013. In this list, underlined shows are the shows I subscribe to and listen to new episodes as they come out. The remainder are ones I currently have episodes downloaded for but don’t subscribe to new episodes as I’m still too far back in their back catalogs.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_tta_tabs color=”purple” active_section=”1″ no_fill_content_area=”true”][vc_tta_section title=”Currently Listening To” tab_id=”1472508000793-839ccf96-70c0″][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”On Deck” tab_id=”1472508000885-573c98b9-f631″][vc_column_text]These podcasts have caught my eye. I’ve even downloaded some of their episodes. I haven’t listened to them yet – probably because my rolling window of dates hasn’t yet made it to their first available episodes. They might become favorites or they might go away after only an episode.[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_tabs][/vc_column][/vc_row]
